Job Title Maintenance Manager
Location Estherville, IA
Reports To Complex Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Manage and develop plant maintenance personnel
  • Plan and manage plant outages and projects
  • Develop and foster a partnership with plant equipment suppliers
  • Ensure plant drawings, OEM documentation, and equipment files are organized and maintained
  • Set high standards for plant housekeeping and ensure standards are understood, being achieved, and continuously improved
  • Develop and continuously improve predictive and preventive maintenance practices
  • Work with operations and maintenance personnel to reduce equipment and process downtime, and improve reliability
  • Establish maintenance repair and replacement standards to meet OEM specifications
  • Continually improve standards, based on precision maintenance concepts, through providing necessary maintenance tools, processes, and training
  • Work with suppliers and management to recommend equipment and processes to improve existing operations and meet new business opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Food Science, or related field, preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance; boilers; and freezers, preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in maintenance supervision, required
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations in the food processing industry
  • General knowledge and experience with plant accounting, purchasing, MRO inventory, and capital practices
  • Experience with computerized maintenance programs with strong PC skills – MS Office applications
  • Bi-lingual skills (English and Spanish), desired
  • Travel up to 10%, annually

Job Title Plant Operator
Location Estherville, IA
Reports To Plant Supervisor

Job Purpose

Plant Operators are responsible for operating processes and equipment in a safe, clean, effective manner to ensure the production of high quality products while meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.

As a key member of the plant operations team, the Plant Operator will:

  • Be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of company’s goals

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures and improvement initiatives
  • Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including safety, environmental, and food/feed safety
  • Operate all facility equipment and processes in area(s) of responsibility
  • Operate facility equipment autonomously while maintaining good communication with supervisors and support teams
  • Perform quality control tests on finished product and make adjustments to equipment to meet product standards
  • Monitor and document process equipment and adjust the flow of production to maintain production standards
  • Perform basic operator troubleshooting and repair of equipment and request assistance from shift supervisor and maintenance for more complex care
  • Maintain clean work environment to ensure safety and product quality
  • Communicate any accidents, threats, downtime, or cost saving measures to the shift supervisor
  • Assist other production and maintenance personnel as needed or requested

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food/feed production a plus
  • Experience operating a bobcat and forklift preferred
  • Understand and operate basic computer systems

  • Occasionally push and/or pull heavy objects

Job Title: Hog Buyer
Location: Estherville, IA
Reports To: Director of Operations, RFMP

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and implement preferred supplier contracts for legal correctness, price, and acceptability on market hogs specifications
  • Assist in recruiting and maintaining suppliers that provide high quality market hogs
  • Oversee all activities related to procurement from purchase to delivery
  • Maintain headcount and weight of hogs received at the plant
  • Supervise barn team to complete daily tasks and ensure livestock are handled properly
  • Maintain records of business transactions and product inventories
  • Input information into the computer as the hogs are received to allow for accurate pricing and payment
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for payment to producers
  • Track and analyze daily hog and pork markets to determine present and future hog availability
  • Ensure USDA regulatory compliance, HACCP, SSOP, SOP, GMP, and SQF program quality, and safety
